If Can’t Run CMD as Admin! How To Fix It with Webroot?

Method To Fix Can’t Run CMD as Admin:

1. Check your Webroot Antivirus:

Sometimes, issue with Command Prompt is because of your antivirus software. So, it is very important you should have a good Webroot antivirus in your device via www.webroot.com/secure which will not interferes in your device features or Windows. If the user faces this issue, you should check your quarantine list and also make sure that these quarantined items aren’t malicious.

2. Create Command Prompt Shortcut:

For this, you should open File Explorer and go to this directory C: \Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3

Now, you will view two Command Prompt shortcuts and run these shortcuts. After this, copy both of them to your desktop and then run it. Or, you can create a new shortcut right in your desktop without copying. For this, you should right-tap on your desktop and then select New and tap on Shortcut. Here in Type the location of the item field, you should enter the cmd.exe command and then tap on Next option. At this point, you should enter the name of the new shortcut and then tap on Finish option.

And to force the new shortcut and run with administrative privileges. For this, you should right-tap on the newly created Command Prompt shortcut and then select Properties from the menu. After this, visit to the Security tab and then tap on Advanced button. Here, you should check Run as administrator and then tap on OK. At last, save changes.

3. Disable All Non-Microsoft Context Menu Items:

First of all, you should download and run ShellExView. When you start it, then you should find all non-Microsoft entries in your context menu and just disable them.

4. Create New User Account:

You should open the Settings app and then go to the Accounts section. For opening the Settings app, you should tap on Windows Key + I key altogether. After this, you should choose Family & other people from the menu which is on the left side. At this point, you should tap on Add someone else to this PC button in the right side. Here, you should select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information. Then, you have to choose Add a user without a Microsoft account. At last, you should enter the username for the new account and then tap on Next option.

5.  Check for Latest Updates:

The user should open the Settings app and then go to the Update & Security section. After this, tap on Check for updates button which is in the right side. At this point, Windows will check for updates and download it. When the updates are downloaded, then you should restart your PC. When PC restarts, then check the problem with Command Prompt is fixed or not.
